EDUCATION
The
Jewett Creek Watershed logo was designed by a Whitson Elementary student
in White Salmon Washington. It was part of a design contest for Whitson
students who submitted great designs making it difficult to judge the winning
logo.
CREEK CRITTERS

Fourth
graders use macro invertebrate keys to identify stream life in Jewett Creek.
Once a month
Whitson Elementary fourth graders test the water quality in Jewett Creek.
An array of tests are conducted such as PH, velocity, nitrate, macro invertebrate
sampling, conductivity and dissolved oxygen.
RESTORATION
Trail building
and blackberry removal

Northwest
Service Academy/AmeriCorps members help construct a trail and remove
non-native Himalayan blackberry briars from the banks of lower Jewett Creek.
Regular planting projects are scheduled within the Jewett Creek watershed
throughout the year.
