How was the
plan developed?
The Jewett Creek
Streamkeepers hosted a watershed-wide public scoping meeting in March 1998.
Through both a questionnaire and a group discussion, the community outlined
opportunities for enhancement in the watershed. The Streamkeepers combined
these suggestions into five categories for enhancing the watershed. We
call these categories "Plan Elements" and for each element we list "Actions"
to help maintain and improve the health of the watershed.
Implementation
Strategy
-
Maintain a well
balanced mix of stakeholders in the Jewett Creek
Streamkeepers group.
-
Hold regular meetings
to address watershed issues.
-
Use the group consensus
method and the stewardship plan to make decisions.
-
Evaluate the plan
biannually.
